Induction 2: Behaviours
Before we introduce you to the dept and what to expect, just a quick reminder of our ethos and behavioural expectations

Make work pleasant for others:
- Lead and listen, put the patient first
- Speak highly of the organisation and with pride
- Keep noise to a minimum - helps towards our patient care and maintains confidentiality.

Say thanks in the moment:
- Value everyone’s contribution, contribute yourself and encourage others to do so
- Look for the unseen value that others may have

Do the Right Thing:
- Lead by example
- Be tolerant and respectful of each other - Respect everyone’s opinion regardless of your own beliefs
- Act with openness, honesty, integrity and above all COMMON SENSE
- Do what you say you will do and take personal responsibility – don’t pass the buck and be true to your word
- It is OK to say “I don’t know” and then ask for help
- Tackle issues (such as these behaviours) and give honest feedback respectfully
- Challenge respectfully and be prepared to be challenged
- Leaders to tackle unacceptable behaviour and poor performance
- Escalate any issues where appropriate
- Enjoy what you do but remain professional – work as one team
Behaviour We Will Not Accept:
- Criticising colleagues / disagreeing in front of patients, visitors or other staff
- Moaning and demoralising others without making an attempt to change things
- Behaving in a rude, unapproachable or moody manner or inappropriate speech
- Bullying or behaviour perceived as bullying by others
- Bad language
