Induction 3: What to expect on arrival
When you arrive for a shift please find the changing rooms in the ED bungalow across the road next to league of friends House. Codes for doors will be given to you in person. Below is a layout of the ED - yellow represents the corridors.

After changing into scrubs please introduce yourself to the nurse in charge who will point you towards the Emergency Physician in Charge (EPIC). On 0800 or 1600 shifts staff will have congregated for hand-over. This will be in the ED Handover room.
If it is your first shift and you missed the formal induction day, the consultant will take you through an induction checklist, give you a tour of the department and introduce you to staff. Please make sure you have ID so we can verify who you are!
We are renowned for being a friendly department, you are welcome to ask about anything you are unsure about to any member of staff - they would be delighted to help!
