Introduction

Welcome to Musgrove Park Emergency Department. As a medium sized district general hospital, we see all sorts of patients, of all ages and from all walks of life. This means any pathology can arrive and be treated here, including major trauma.

The consultant team and wider staff body will always support you, so do not be afraid to ask about anything you might need help with. Most of all though, enjoy being part of our team and thank you for choosing to work with us.

A bit about Musgrove Park Hospital:

MPH is the larger of the 2 District General Hospitals in Somerset serving over 340,000 people over a very large and diverse catchment area (approx. 800 2 miles). Each year there are over 40,000 emergency admission and 10,000 planned surgical admissions. The Hospital has over 700 beds, 30 wards, 15 operating theatres, a 12 bedded ITU and 6 HDU beds and a neonatal ICU. We also have a state of the art Oncology Unit and Cardiac catheter lab and surgical wards including 112 single patient rooms with ensuite facilities. Musgrove Park Hospital employs over 4,000 staff making it one of the largest employers in the south west.
